Dr. Rod Ellison grew up in California’s Central Valley. He received a BS in Biology from Pacific Union College and then, motivated by his love of working with his hands to restore form and create something beautiful, he continued on to Loma Linda School of Dentistry.
In 1980 Dr. Ellison and his wife Nancy moved to Yakima for its small, friendly, family-centric community. He has continued to serve the Yakima Valley ever since. Dr. Ellison loves the hands-on sense of accomplishment he experiences when guiding a patient through the process of evaluation, education, and treatment until they realize their goals. In complex cases, where the attention of a specialist is required, Dr. Ellison believes that his role is to act as a quarterback on behalf of the patient.
Even after thirty years of practice, Dr. Ellison believes in the importance of continuing his dental education. He is committed to consistently extending and refining his knowledge of current treatment options and improving his skills as a health care provider. His most recent courses of study include Pharmacology, Implant Mini Residency, Oral-Systemic Relationship of Inflamation, Partial Denture Design and Safety of Composite Fillings.
Dr. Ellison and Nancy have two grown children, a son and a daughter. Both are now adventuresome adults having inherited the travel bug from their parents. Dr. Ellison’s other interests include skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking and tennis. He is also passionate about technology, photography, music, architecture, reading, and travel.
